December 2017 Outreach

Nnobi USA Diaspora Health Group on its annual health outreach

Event Details

Our 2017 Nnobi-wide health screening/health fair was a total success. We screened 53.6% more people, held 6 screening events simultaneously every day and did it all more efficiently than 2016. Kudos go to the Matrons and CHWs who planned and carried out the screening. We must also thank members of NUDHG and NUNA for their financial contributions and support. Many thanks to Charles Ezeonyim for supplying all the drugs and test kits used at Nnobi. Our gratitude goes to our Nnobi SISTERS for their incredible work in putting together the Convention in New York.

All in all, we screened 1562 Nnobians. We treated 515 cases of Malaria, 536 cases of Hypertension and 75 cases of Diabetes. 442 patients received multi-vitamins as nutritional supplements and 516 people received Ibuprofen for arthritis and other aches and pains. All patients were actively referred to the Health Centers or the General Hospital for follow up.

Improvements in the healthcare system were evident.

  • The water tank for Our Ladies Health Center, Awuda, was completed and functioning (photo attached)
  • New mattresses/sheets for Ngo Health Center provided by the Okafor family had arrived at the Center.
